Belarus Olympian stripped of Gold medal after drug test

Just days ago we congratulated Nadzeya Ostapchuk of Belarus for winning the Olympic Gold in London for her shot-put performance. The international Olympic Committee has announced that a day prior and immediately after her performance, Ostapchuk was tested for steroid use and in both samples she tested positive for metenolone which is one the list of banned anabolic steroids.

The committee disqualified her from further competition in London and awarded the gold medal to Valerie Adams of New Zealand.
