Religion in Russia

Three historic faiths are part of Russia’s heritage: The Orthodox faith, Islam, and the Jewish faith. It is the policy of the Mendeleyev Journal to focus on the faith of the majority, Russian/Eastern Orthodoxy, although we do cover newsworthy events regarding Russia’s other prominent faiths. One thousand years of Orthodoxy has molded a unique culture and worldview and the Patriarch of Russia is spiritual head of over 70% of all Orthodox believers in the world.
