More arrests across Russia

The Interior Ministry says at least 250 of arrests have been made in Moscow while in Saint Petersburg the number of arrests just in Monday’s demonstration alone was over 300.

Opposition leaders arrested the day after Sunday’s elections included Eduard Limonov, Dmitry Demushkin, anti-corruption blogger Alexei Navalny and Left Front party leader Sergei Udaltsov. Presidential candidate Mikhail Prokhorov spoke at the Pushkinskaya rally and then later made a statement apologizing to citizens who had been injured by excessive force when police brutally broke up the rally.
