May 1st: International Workers Day – Spring and Labour Day

1 May: In Soviet times the first of May was a national holiday known as International Workers Day to call attention to common everyday working people and to lament the plight of oppressed peoples in capitalistic societies while celebrating the solidarity of the free and peace loving peoples who laboured jointly under Communism, and thus linking arms to build the brave new world.

Today is still an official holiday but is called Spring and Labour Day.

The good ole days…

Seriously, we’re glad that the days of Communism are gone but one must admit that the effort put into the art and propaganda of those days seems to be missing today.
